Previous literature indicates that childhood maltreatment increases vulnerability to mental health challenges in adulthood, particularly anxiety-related disorders. Links between developmental period of trauma occurrence and future psychopathology have been found but are understudied.
Research Question: How do self-reported symptoms on the Mood and Anxiety Symptom Questionnaire (MASQ)--general distress, anhedonic depression, and anxious arousal—relate to childhood physical abuse and adulthood physical assault?
